Start with the venue’s instructions

An indoor gym and an outdoor court can have different requirements. Read the booking page for footwear, equipment and arrival time. This checklist is an editorial guide; the venue’s own conditions take priority. Ask the organiser when anything is unclear.

Put your personal essentials together

Pack suitable court shoes and comfortable clothes, water, a towel and a change of clothes if needed. Keep your reservation and an accepted payment method ready. For outdoor sessions, check the weather and bring appropriate sun or rain protection. Check lockers and changing facilities before travelling.

Confirm exactly what you can borrow

A session may provide balls but charge separately for a paddle. Ask about each item rather than assume a complete equipment set is included. If you are borrowing equipment, confirm how to collect and return it.

Match shoes and balls to the venue

Indoor facilities may require indoor-only or non-marking shoes. Send a photograph or model name if you are unsure whether your shoes meet the rules. Use the venue’s preferred ball; manufacturers sell different indoor and outdoor models, so avoid buying a large pack before checking.

Turn your first experience into a useful shopping list

Before leaving, check for schedule changes, the route and the check-in point. Tell the host you are new. After the session, note the paddle you borrowed and anything you wished you had brought. Buy for the sessions you actually plan to attend.
